| Polar System
Polar series is a skid-mounted tempering system that comes equipped with a water heater, mixing valve, and holding tank. Skid is a water resistant, polyurea membrane-encased, steel-reinforced wooden structure. Haws systems have multiple levels of back-up protection to ensure uninterrupted flow with anti-scald protection and full flow cold water bypass. These systems may supply a number of drench systems or eyewash stations, and are for use in indoor areas that are protected from freezing. Feeder lines should be heat-traced, or a recirculating pump used. The Model 8780 is available with either a 119 or a 325 gallon storage capacity tank, as well as an instantaneous steam heat exchanger as options. Should the simultaneous operation of more than one shower be desired, Haws offers a high-flow blending system for the 325 gallon tank and steam heat exchanger systems.
Specifications:
- Blending System: Model TWBS.SH.
- Water Heater: 4 KW, 240 VAC copper immersion heater or steam heat exchanger.
- Thermostat: Dual element thermostat with manual reset hi-limit protection.
- Skid: 4' x 5' water resistant , polyurea membrane-encased, steel reinforced wooden structure.
Steam Systems:
- When a steam supply is available, a Haws steam heat exchanger and mixing system is the best approach for efficient tempering, especially with multiple shower or recirculating systems. Standard steam system is sized to provide up to 35 gpm of 80°F (26°C) tempered water, and require no recovery time. Higher flow systems are available.
- Option No. 24: Steam heat exchanger, feed forward instantaneous heat exchanger. Requires 15 psig, max. 1300 lb./hr steam supply.
Tank Systems:
- Option No. 21: 119 gallon tank: Stores enough hot water to provide a single 20 gpm shower for 15 minutes. Recovery time of up to 4 hours.
- Option No. 22: 119 gallon ASME tank: Stores enough hot water to provide a single 20 gpm shower for 15 minutes. Recovery time of up to 4 hours.
- Option No. 23: 325 gallon ASME tank: Stores enough hot water to provide two 20 gpm showers for 15 minutes. Recovery time of up to 11 hours. Tank is insulated and jacketed
Electrical System Options:
- Standard system requires 208-240 VAC single phase, 2 wire and ground, 20 amp electrical supply. Electrical systems can be provided to meet various environmental requirements. Select the electrical option that meets the environmental conditions where the Polar unit is to be installed.
- Option No. 31: NEMA 4 water/dust tight when tank tempering system is selected.
- Option No. 32: Class I, Division 2, Group B, C, Dand T4.
- Option No. 33: Class I, Division 1, Group C, Dand T4.
